Having just received the latest newsletter from Thou Shall Honor I am troubled to see such a partisan representation of Democrats and Republicans. Caregiving is NOT a partisan issue. It affects all of us as well as the people we serve regardless of who we choose in the voting booth. I believe it is shortsighted to write that now that the Republican party has gained control of the House and Senate improvements for caregivers will be right around the corner. That position is naive or small, or perhaps both.
Why would a newsletter meant to be a support for caregivers and the professionals who serve them so blatently attempt to alienate approximately half of its potential readers? Please do not attempt to taint the importance of caregiving with something as petty as politics. It is important for readers of the newsletter to be kept aware of significant legislation that may affect caregiving, but leave the snipish comments out of it.

We were not commending the GOP, simply stating that the Republican leadership is determined to pass certain health-care measures during the 108th Congress. One reason for their determination is, no doubt, to answer Democratic criticism but we did not feel it necessary to ascribe motivation.

Your article about Sen. Grassley's bill dealing with prescription drug coverage makes it sound like a fine solution to the lack of access to prescription drugs by millions of Americans. The entire article sounds like a campaign ad for the Republican party. You have revealed that you are not a resource for consumers, but a mouthpiece for corporate America, just like most of our current politicians. The deception you have carried on for months, pretending to be concerned with the needs of our most vulnerable, has been exposed by your most recent email newsletter.

Our article outlines the bill's provisions. It does not make any judgments about its merits.
