Training

There are many organizations that offer training courses for CareGivers. Besides those listed below, check with your local community service organizations listed in our directory.

  • American Red Cross "Foundations for Caregiving" This course trains professional caregivers, such as nurse assistants or lay caregivers, to provide concerned, individualized care according to six principles: safety, privacy, dignity, communication, independence, and infection control.
  • The Hospice Institute of the Florida Suncoast "Caregiving at Life's End," funded by an Administration on Aging grant, includes a national needs assessment and a free train-the-trainer program.
